5 Things You Need To Know In SA Business Today And Audi's New Electric Limousine

1. Thousands of leaders of the world's largest economies (included in South Africa) and the EU representative will meet today in Argentina as part of a group of 20 top-level meetings. Markets are nervous: US President Donald Trump meets with Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, and deteriorating relations could harm global trade. Trump has already quashed a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin after Russia seized Ukrainian ships and seafarers in neutral waters between their countries.

2. Fed's view that US dollar rates will not be far behind, continues to support rand. This was the last trading at R13.65 / $ – even below the R10 against the Australian dollar.

3. Former President Jacob Zuma has used five agencies and private detectives abroad to "get dirt" after criticizing Zumum in 2016, said Johann Rupert yesterday at Remorg's shareholder meeting. The business diary reports that Richemont and Remcro's chair were shocked by being released to the Zondo State Examination Commission.

4. The United Kingdom, the owner of Mall Intu, listed on the JSE and a longtime favorite of local investors, lost one-third of its value yesterday. The proposed download of the group has been compromised.

5. Somewhere in the property sector, Nephi Rockcastle – who collapsed earlier this week after Viceroy's crater accused of "massively overwhelmingly" gain – recovered some lost ground yesterday. Nephi Rockcastle fought back and called on the financial authority of South Africa to investigate Viceroy.

Audi on Wednesday introduced the e-tron GT electric limo concept in Los Angeles. Automaker says it will begin shipping the production version in early 2021.

The e-tron GT concept has a battery of over 90 kWh that provides a range of over 248 miles. The concept also features two engines, four seats, 590 horsepower and an acceleration of 0-100 km / h in about 3.5 seconds. Using an 800 volts charger, the concept of e-tron GT can be up to 80% capacity for about 20 minutes.

Audi has not announced the price for the e-tron GT version, but will likely compete against the Tesla Model S sedan. Model S has a maximum range of 540 km and a top speed of 0 to 100 km / h by 2.5 seconds.

The E-tron GT concept follows Audi's e-tron electric SUV, which the car manufacturer will begin shipping to US customers in the second quarter of 2019. The E-tron will have five seats, have two engines, and feature all-wheel drive configurations in its standard design , according to Audi. Automaker said it would have a range of about 400 km, based on the European test cycle, although it has not yet been tested by the US Environmental Protection Agency.

In addition, Audi says the e-tron will have a top speed of 200 km / h, 0-100 km / h of 5.5 seconds and 95 kWh of batteries that will be able to get 80 percent of charge for about 30 minutes when using some fast charger for DC.

This is a closer look at the Audi's e-tron GT concept.
