Wijnaldum cannot be dripped

Since joining Liverpool in 2016, Gini Wijnaldum has become an indispensable member of Jürgen Klopp’s midfield.

The Dutchman has been transformed into a hard-working man from box to box – he arrived as an advanced attacking midfielder.

Roberto Firmino is the only outside player to have played more minutes than Gini since his arrival in 2016.

The Dutchman’s contract expires at the end of this season and it seems that the renewal is not in sight.

The dispute allegedly relates to a deserved salary increase; the club did not want to satisfy the midfielder’s wishes due to entering the thirties.

Barcelona offers contract to Gini Wijnaldum

This summer it seems inevitable that Barcelona will give Gina Wijnaldum.

Ronald Koeman reportedly brought the Dutchman a ‘non-negotiable priority’ when he took over the club last summer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have offered Gina Wijnaldum a three-year contract.

The sales house claims the deal will be worth 8m euros gross per year.

What RTK has to say

The wheels seem to be in motion.

It will be a sad day when the midfielder leaves Anfield.

Gini is a crucial part of the team and we will miss him very much.

There will certainly be no bad feelings towards the Dutchman, we understand why he would like to leave, he will be remembered fondly.
