Chelsea is struggling to break the players with figure Danny Drinkwater and Gary Cahill before the deadline for the transfer Thursday, said a source close to the situation for ESPN FC.
Cahill, the captain of the club, has a number of bids from abroad, but the source said the center pay demands would have to be reduced to find a move. Meanwhile, Chelsea is trying to find a buyer for Drinkwaters.
The pair fell into disagreement under Maurizio Sarri, but Chelsea still hopes to be moved from the club on the day of the transfer.
