Kaizer Chiefs releases Godfrey Walusimbi after signing Reeve Frosler and Daniel Akpey



Giants Soweto have boosted their team by signing two players with a gearbox set to close on Thursday night

Kaizer Chiefs announced the departure of defender Godfrey Walusimbi five months after joining the club.

The left back was joined by Amakhos from the Kenya Soccer Power Station Gor Mahia at the end of the transfer window from July to August 2018.

In the statement the club says: "The Kaizer Chiefs split off their left back with Godfrey Walusimbij.

Walusimbi. who scored 14 appearances in all competitions for Amakhos, enjoyed regular time at Italian coach Giovanni Solinas, but fell into discomfort following the arrival of German coach Ernst Middendorpa in December 2018.

The departure of the Ugandan international has freed one of the five foreign heads of Chiefs with a club that recently promoted Happy Mashiane, which is expected to compete with Siphosakhee Ntiya-Ntiyom at left bank.

Giants from Sowet confirmed that they had picked up Nigeria international Danielle Akpey, who joined the club from Chippa United.

"Kaizer Chiefs wants to confirm the signing of Daniel Akpey's goal from Chipp United, signing a contract for 1 year and 5 months," the club said in a statement.

The 32-year-old is expected to resolve the problem of the commanding officer of Namibia's guard Virgil Vries who was tormented while replacing the injured Itumelenga Khune.

Eventually, the bosses discovered that they strengthened their defenses by signing the talented right-wing Reeve Frosler, who was in Bidvest Wits.

The former South African international youth has fallen in favor of Clever Boy after refusing to extend the deal with the former PSL champions.

Frosler is expected to compete with Ramahlwei Mphahlele and Kgotso Molekke in the right back position.
