The United States is very careful and successful in applying maximum pressure to Iran through sanctions without allowing oil prices to increase, US Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook announced on Wednesday.

Speaking at the meeting, Hook said Washington's "maximum pressure" strategy would also be applied to escrow accounts holding Iran's oil revenue. He said that the expected increase in oil supplies in 2019 will help the United States to ask the country to further reduce its imports of Iranian oil.
