The woman hit her head with a stray bullet on a bus to Cape Town

The 53-year-old woman who traveled on the Golden Arrow bus struck a lunar shots on Monday at the Valhalla Park in Cape Town.

Director General of Bus Service Derick Meyer said the bus traveled from Mowbray to Elsies Rivier.

"At this point, it looks like the bus was on the way to a stalled bullet, not that it was a targeted attack," Meyer said.

The woman on the bus got a bullet wound in her head and the driver drove her to the hospital.

Meyer said she was at a hospital in critical condition.

The incident happened on Monday about 12.15 am.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the traveler and her loved ones during this difficult time."

Police spokesman Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana said the murder trial case was opened for investigation. There were no arrests.
