This was confirmed by nine cases of hantavirus in the province of Buenos Aires.
A man of 40 years who is prisoner in Magdalen Prison, near La Plate, was transferred to a hospital of high complexity in the capital city of Buenos Aires, because of hantavirus.
The man serving the sentence in the criminal unit 28 felt a general illness with joint and headache. In a sanitary prison unit with flu-like symptoms, he was subjected to tests that led to hantavirus contractions, and his transfer to San Juan de Dios Hospital in La Plata was determined.

There are already nine cases of registered and confirmed hantaviruses in the province of Buenos Aires.
Local Prison Prisoners have been training staff to take preventive measures and early diagnosis, except for fumigating and deratization operatives in "different prisons."
The Provincial Commissions of Memory (CPM) has already requested it that measures of prevention and deratization are carried out in prisons, police stations, closed centers for young people and neuropsychiatric Buenos Aires to avoid contagious viruses that transmit colilargo mice.

According to the CPM, prison inspections were found "with great care the presence of rodents and lack of hygiene two places where detainees stay make these sites a very convenient place to spread the disease".
