The drop in sales slows down a new fuel increase

After a very turbulent year, with more than 12 increases in the first nine months, a sudden drop in fuel sales appears to be a fundamental element that would, albeit short-term, avoid new "rate adjustments".

After a very shaky 2018, fuel prices would remain "silent" in the short term.

The problem is not small. In January, thousands of tourists are on their way to all types of car in search of a holiday retirement, generating "quasi-natural" conditions for tenants to try to regain part of lost profitability in recent months.

Moreover, considering that in the last hours of the year, the National Government officials have prepared a ground for announcing new increases in public services, such as gas, electricity and transport.

However, despite this context of employee pocket terrorism "for now there is no talk about further fuel growth," said a source of business for NORTE consultations.

The relative stability of the variables that make up the price of fuel, added to the drop in sales, means that at this time no new increases in these products are increasing, which was significantly over inflation in 2018.

Data from the latest official research by the Ministry of Energy related to fuel demand that corresponds to the month of November, has released a specialized site surtidores.com.ar, which shows that sales of gasoline and diesel fuel to the public fell 8.26% over the same period of 2017 and 2.21% if compared with October 2018.

The most significant decline was Premium Oil, which recorded a 30% year-on-year decrease, due to the fact that the last increase brought a liter of 45 people in the capital and the surrounding area.

In Chaco, the product is sold for less than 50 pcs per liter, and in 2018 it has increased by 59%.

Logic suggests that this amount should be transferred to the Super, 16% cheaper, although the equation is far from linear, as the shipments only increase by 2.74%.

Lowered in Diesel suppliers (9%), while diesel engine 2, coupled with production, agriculture and transport, fell by 7.88%.

Gasoline prices were in November 2018, 76.9% more than the one-year high in the case of super-oil and 78.5 in premium oil.

As far as diesel is concerned, in November 2018 they were 83.6% higher compared to November 2017 (grade 2) and 86.1% in the case of diesel grade 3 fuel.

In any case, it should be borne in mind that, according to the Institute for Studies on the Realities of Argentina and Latin America (Ieral), although oil and diesel in Chaco are more expensive than in other provinces, the analysis shows that the increase in these quantities was lower. other regions.
