A few days after the deadline for winning a prize, the couple had accidentally found a winning lottery ticket.
The map they won a "big hit" for months have forgotten in the book, the organizers of the draw have reported.
A pair from Quebec, Nicole Pedneault and Roger Larocque won a million Canadian dollars.
"If my grandson did not ask me to give him some stuff for his presentation, I would never find a map," said Nicole Pedneault.
Last weekend they realized that they had a winning card for drawing on April 5, 2018.
This happened as Nicole looked at a book about Japan to help a granddaughter with a school project and noticed that something had hit the site.
It was a lucky couple bought last year for Valentine's Day.
"The first thing I did when I found a map in the book was to look at the time to get a profit on the Loto-Quebec website," he said.
It will expire soon
The map was still worth it, but not long: only until Friday.
"It was by accident that we found him last time in that way," the winner said while claiming to have a check.
Baby Lottery: The winner will use the award to start the job.
