The location of Matthew Wade for half a century helped Hobart Hurricanes to head 7-169 against Adelaide Strikers in Launceston. By informing Wade he hit 88 of the 54 balls on Thursday night in the Big Bash League but the Hurricanes fell late late, losing 5-19 in the last four goals. Hobart skipper, who struck eight boundaries and two six, got life in 40 years when Michael Neser was kicked off by Ben Laughlin. Wade also hit the ball at 86, which was supposed to be taken before Laughlin (3-31) grabbed the next ball.
After the Hurricanes were sent to the UTAS stadium, Wade split the 59-stem basement with D & Arcy Short, who was caught in Laughlin cover for 26 of 19 balls. Hurricanes watched on the path to huge points until the strikers ceased.
The Afghan rescue machine Rashid Khan and Neser took two wickets. Adelaide's Jake Lehmann, who received 15 wins, left the field with a finger injury.
Sixth-placed attackers called Harry Nielsen, Cameron Valente and Wes Agar to side that had hardly lost Sydney Sixers.
