Apple could launch its first iPhone with 5G data transfer technology in 2020. This requires at least one unnamed source for the Fast Company online platform.

Intel's special 5G modem chips, which are under the designation 8161, would then be used. According to the report, Intel should also be the only communications processor supplier.

Currently, prototypes of the iPhone 5G will still be tested with the previous 8060 chip, it goes further. The first 5G smartphone could come on the market next year. The first Android devices will probably be based on the 5G chip of Intel's Qualcomm competitor usually.
