In the coming years, Morocco will become one of the largest freight forwarding facilities in the world, the Danish shipowner A.P. Moller-Maersk. This will be achieved by adding the APM Med-Port terminal, with a capacity of 5 million TEUs (equivalent to twenty feet), in Tangier-Med port.
At the forefront of African ports, Tangier-Med Harbor is also one of the 50 largest containers in the world. This order is the result of a popular location along the major maritime trade routes and increased cargo in and out of Africa, the Danish giant said in a statement. This is a result behind GDP growth of 4.1%, with positive outlook for container imports and exports.
Agreement between the Danish shipowner A.P. Moller-Maerska and the Tangier-Med Port are intensified with a new $ 800m investment to build new APM Med-Port terminals.
For Morten H. Engelstoft, Executive Director of APM Terminals, his company has a successful partnership with Morocco. He is also pleased with the use of this other container terminal of the Lucky Complex, Tangier-Med. In his eyes, the terminals of APM Med-Port Tangier represent an important link that better serves their customers and further promotes global trade.
