Porsche likes to boast that their cars have no substitution (no replacement). Who blames them! But Mercedes-AMG does not intend to replace anyone, Mercedes-AMG intends to replace the Panamera from the top in this niche by taking the first four-wheeled Afalterbach sports car. His premiere was held at the Geneva Motor Show at the beginning of the year, and now, in the end, the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door Coupe officially went home.
Our first impressions of the direct encounter with this Panama killer are enthusiastic. Daimler has been in steam for the past 2-3 years, and passage was one of the most successful for concern. The home representative also had excellent results. "Silver Star" has been on the domestic market for a year and eight months, and for that period has made an investment of around 25 million euros. Business expectations should end in 2018 with approximately 1,200 light, light and commercial vehicles sold. Plan for 2019: sales over 1000 cars.
For this figure it is expected that the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe will contribute at least 30 units (optimistic forecast is 50) but its task is not to sell, but to get a picture, although it does not belong to "Triple Star" may complain. But here we are talking about an exclusive vision, technological arsenal and dynamics.
The model comes with two V-octave with two turbines. The weakest (GT 63) generates 585 hp. and 800 Nm, while the top version (GT 63 S) is powered by the same 639 hp engine. and 900 Nm, which speeds up to 100 km / h in 3.1 seconds. Maximum speed is 315 km / h. This version focuses on the main interest of potential buyers, although the price in Bulgaria is about 220,000 euros.

The third modification (GT 53) is a "budget". Combines a 3.0-liter in-line 6-cylinder engine that generates 435 hp. (520 Nm). It works with a 9-speed "vending machine", and between these two units is fitted a 21 hp electric motor. and 249 Nm.
Three modifications rely on a 9-speed AMG Speedshift transmission, but with some differences. In the V8 variants we have a MCT box with a wet clutch while version 53 relies on TCT transmission and conventional torque converter. There are similar differences in the four-wheel drive system. The basic model comes with a torque when there is a great need for capturing, while the V8 models deliver the torque when it is the most fun. Another way: cars also rely on Drift mode, which is standard on 63 S.
If four full size seats (tested at 1.90 meters high on the front seat) are not required in the 4-door coupe, visitors to the Silver Star will be introduced to the AMG GT R 2 tactical field fighter. Creation developed on the basis of the AMG racing experience has accumulated in consumer materials for different GT3 races and in German Touring Car Masters. This means that the model is geared only to sportsmanship and driving dynamics.
It also contributes to a special carbon component weighing only 2 kg. At speeds above 80 km / h and in RACE mode, this element, positioned below the floor of the car, drains and changes the air flow. This process leads to what is known as the Venturi effect, which "sucks" the car on the road and reduces the lifting of the front axle by about 40 kg at 250 km / h.
Below the huge front, a turbocharged V8 engine of 588 hp was launched, which released the GT R at 100 km / h in 3.6 seconds and the maximum speed was 318 km / h. With a 2.66 HP per kilogram, the GT R occupies a position in its segment. The weight distribution is 47.3 compared to 52.7 percent between the front and rear axles.
