Canadian tennis player Bianca Andreescu was once again stunned by the world of sports, defeating the legendary Venus Williams to reach the first WTA semi-finals.
Andreescu from Mississauga, Ont., Won 6-7 (1), 6-1, 6-3 over Williams at ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand.
"I think everything is possible and I think I made it impossible tonight," she said in court after winning the No. 1 player in the world. "I do not know what to say."
After breaking into the start of the second set, Andreescu dropped 11 consecutive games to take control of the game.
"I do not know what to say!"
"My goal was just to qualify and maybe get a few rounds, but now I've won several top players, so who knows? I believe in myself to the end," Andreescu, who is the 15th place in the world, had to go through qualifying for tournament. I fought and really enjoyed it.
Eighteen-year-olds are only on the day after their biggest win in their career, a stunning 6/4 victory over 6-4 on Thursday at the third World Caroline Wozniacki at the $ 250,000 Auckland tournament, which is considered to be warming for the Australian Open starting in just over a week days.
