Eric Tillman leaves Ticats – 3DownNation

Eric Tillman will not return to Hamilton Tiger-Cats as general manager next season, according to CFL sources.

Tillman has been in the club since then 2013 when brought as consultant at the beginning of the then-vice president of football operations at Kent Austin. He was promoted to the General Manager in 2016.

He retained this title after Austin resigned to become a consultant in April last year, but he did not have a final decision to decide, sharing his duties with Assistant General Director Shawn Burke and Drew Allemang. Head June Jones and Assistant Chief Trainee Orlondo Steinauer, who recently took top job, also played a part in staffing.

Burke and Allemang remain in the club and are expected to take on extended roles.

Isthmus Tillman's contract was first reported by Dave Naylor of TSN, who says Tillman is in the race for the best football deal with Atlantic Schooner. The Halifax franchise does not have a publicly announced stadium plan and there is no official schedule for their entry into the CFL.

Sources say this move is not linked to a new payroll for football operations, which was introduced this season and made numerous teams across CFL to reduce the number of staff.
