Former WWBL star JBL has released a series of tweets directed to Cody Rhodes last night, one of whom said he would kill a wrestler – but Layfield now apologized, admitting that he was drinking too much.
In case you missed … JBL also tweeted said Cody's tool and not in his league and that he could beat Rhodes any day in the game (though he was retired).
Friday morning, however, Layfield changed the melody. "Last night he had fun with Codem and said I would kill Cody Rhodes, obviously I did not literally mean it," he wrote on Twitter. "It was a very bad choice of words, I went way back with him and his family, and I just spoke smack in the pro wrestling sense. I apologize for that bad choice of words."
Adding: "I did not mean disrespect to Dusty. That's what happens when they win the Cowboys winners, my birthday, talking to the smack and drink mix."
For the public, here's the tip: Do not drink and chirp. Usually it does not end well.
