As part of the World Health Day celebration (November 14th), Seremi de Salud Ñuble organized a day of spreading at Cesfamo Dr. Raúl San Martín González, where users of this health center held and provided information material.

"Recognizing and timely treatment of diabetes helps reduce unwanted complications of the disease, so our message is needed for a preventive medicine (EMP) test that enables people to detect risk factors and diabetes at an early and potentially reversible stage," said Marta Bravo, Seremi de Salud, adding that a system of healthy living, re-launched by President Sebastian Piñere, was chosen within the strategies for disease control; Breastfeeding; and by Law 20.606, which among other measures requires the labeling of packaged products containing excessive critical nutrients (sodium, sugar, saturated fats and calories) aimed at helping the population to choose healthy foods, with the exception of limiting the advertising and sale of those foods in educational centers, thus favoring a healthy environment.
"Obesity and obesity are the main risk factors associated with type 2 diabetes, affecting 90-95% of people with diabetes. Avoiding these factors by keeping healthy lifestyles based on healthy nutrition, regular physical activity, prevents new cases," he added Bravo.
There are other risk factors for type Diabetes including smoking, excessive alcohol use, family history of diabetes and other factors not yet known (33%).
