We finally arrived in 2019. On August 6, 2018, we announced the arrival of Android Pie 9.0 on Pixel devices, so nearly 6 months have passed since the latest version of Android was released. The Treble project served as something, at least in high-end, and a large number of top-of-the-range 2018 devices are upgraded to this version. However, as every year, some manufacturers are lagging behind.
Updates are not too important to the average user, they do not penalize sales, and even some users they prefer that companies run longer and offer more polished ROMs, The time of each brand is special, and it came in early 2019 and we think it's interesting to count. We then list Manufacturers who have not yet updated their latest high-end Android 9.0 Pie, despite objects that Google wanted to put with Treble.
The most is lagging behind
In favor of Samsunga, Galaxy S9 and S9 + have already received Android Pie 9.0, an update released on December 24th. However, its leading model, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 still has Android Pie 9.0. It always conflicts with Samsung's advantage over Galaxy S range, despite being on paper inferior to the Galaxy Note.
There are currently no official dates yet we hope Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be upgraded to Android 9.0 Pie during the month of January, so enjoying a UI, a new interface for South Korean companies, focusing on minimalism and functionality.
The LG G7 ThinQ continues with Android Oreo. The open beta process was opened in November, though it was only available in South Korea, It should be indicative that the official update should not take much longer so the LG G7 ThinQ should also enjoy the latest version of Android earlier this year in 2019. In the case of LG there is no news about major changes in the user interface, so we expect changes associated with operating system optimization and some other design-level moves without major changes.
HTC U11, U11 + and U12 + also continue with Android Oreo, and no date to updateHowever, the company is working on update, so we expect it sometime in the first quarter of 2019. In the case of HTC, no major changes are expected. HTC Sense usually respects Google's design line, so we expect optimization of Google's proposal, under the auspices of the Taiwanese manufacturer's careful interface.
The ASUS Zenfone 5Z does not have Android Pie 9.0 though it is expected to be updated for this month JanuaryIn the case of this manufacturer, the interface is pretty Asian and personalized, so what's expected from the update is the minimal design change, integrating the compelling improvements that Google imposes on 9.0. ASUS's high-end entry has never been stable so we do not know its policy and philosophy of updating for 2019.
