A medium-intensity earthquake was recorded around 9:55 p.m. in the Valparaíso, Metropolitana, O’Higgins, Maule, Ñuble and Biobío regions.

According to seismology, the telluric movement had a magnitude of 6.1, with an epicenter 84 kilometers northwest of the Constitución, with a depth of 44.6 kilometers.

The hydrographic and oceanographic service of the Chilean navy assured that “the characteristics of the earthquake do not meet the necessary conditions for the creation of a tsunami off the coast of Chile.”
