Mercado Libre launched its Flex Shipping Market in Argentina, with the aim of improving user experience in terms of logistics requirements and expanding shopping opportunities offered by an e-commerce company.
With the Flex Shipping Market service, sellers can deliver 24 hours in Federal Capital and throughout the province of Buenos Aires through a variety of logistics companies without the need to select regular mails.
According to Infotechnology, one of the companies that is already part of the pilot test tool is the Argentine launch of Welivery, which aims to solve the logistics process of electronic commerce, optimize and streamline its deliveries.
"We opened a large market because before they were tied to traditional suppliers like Correo Argentino, this is an excellent opportunity for non-traditional logistics companies," said Mauricio Boiko, CEO of Welivery.
Mercado Libre increased its net income by 16.5% in the third quarter of 2018, with a total of $ 355.3 million compared to the same period last year. In addition, Argentina's gross earnings reached $ 169.7 million, with a margin of 47.8%, as compared to the third quarter of 2017.
With nearly 20 years of history, Mercado Libre is the most significant electronic commerce company in Latin America, present in 19 countries in the region. In June 2017, the company made history by entering the list of the top 100 technology companies on Wall Street, which became the first Argentine company to enter the list.
Today, the Mercado Libre website is ranked among the top 50 in the world in terms of visits.
