The selected assets will be converted into food banks, from which non-profit organizations are distributed to the elderly, poor families or children from kindergartens. This year, organizers want to highlight the difficult situation of single-parent families and their children.
"People usually give rice and pasta, and many cans and cans also appear in the basket this year. I also like washing laundry, detergents and bathroom articles," said Tomas Gajdošík, a company for the company that organizes a collection.
At the Černý Most Shopping Center on Saturday, some customers, apart from individual products, provided big packages, such as sugar.
In the more than 660 stores around the Czech Republic, the National Food Collection was held.

"I tried to choose the most necessary," said the older woman who brought baby diapers and another drugstore. The volunteers leaving the hypermarket sort the gifted goods and store them in prepared boxes. The Hypermarket Globus this year marked a collection of food that is suitable for donation and prepared food and drug packages, which are sold at a discount.
More than 5 years ago, 1.2 million kg of food and drugs
In addition, this year, food stores were selected with selected stores, Albert, Bill, Dm Drugerie, Macro, Penny Market, Rossmann, Tesco and Lidl. This year, the number of stores in which the collection is held increased to 36. "People have contributed everywhere since the morning, so we believe that, thanks to a large number of stores and more awareness of this collection, this year, in our stores and drugstores, more food, "said Zuzana Holá from Lidla.
Last year, the collection brought 370 tons of food and 41.5 tons of pharmacies. In the last five years, people in the Czech Republic donated almost 1.2 million pounds of food and other products. According to the organizers, it is important that people also look at the nutritional value of the gifted food and are of high quality.
Support for single mothers
This year's event is to highlight the difficult situation of single-parent families and their children. According to Director of Pavlousková's Free Mothers' Club, a third of single-breasted mothers have no monthly earnings of more than 10,000 crowns. This is the case of thirty-two-year-old Denise from Prague who takes care of her son.
"I currently live in Prague 4 in a start-up apartment, I'm bringing two-year Cuba, mostly since I was born. I have about 3500 kronor per month," says his tight budget. Thanks to the collection, it can be used for vegetables or meat.
The goal of a national charity event not only helps the needy but also gives people the opportunity to show solidarity with those who do not have enough money for basic permanent food or drugstore goods.
The shopping list compiled by the organizers includes canned food, compote, powdery, pasta, legumes, spices, oil, tea, honey, flour, baby food. People can buy detergents for washing, soaps, shampoos, dental pastes and brushes, shaving, creams, sponges or diapers.
Immediately the material will be transferred to the food bank. From there they will go to the charities that give them the need.
