Experts who want to raise public awareness of this lifelong disease and promote the prevention of Type 2 diabetes are also regularly involved.
We remember this World Day, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Diabetic Federation since 1991. Do not go home, find the action closest to your home and get involved. Come and get new information, support, talk a few words with other diabetics and support the idea of community diabetes. Basically, just finding that diabetes is not a human being is rich enough.

Why November 14?
Let's go back in time and remember how much work, human effort and effort behind the discovery of insulin, which now employs several thousands of diabetics around the world and can live a lifetime through it.
As it is the case, fame and discoveries do not fall on the people's lap. Otherwise, Dr. Frederick Banting, the discovery of insulin, is not. Frederick Banting performed medical practice in Ontario in 1920. In addition, he held lectures on internal medicine at the local university. At this point he came to the article about diabetes and Langerhans's islets in the pancreas. Given that he was preparing his dissertation at the same time, he thought he would try to isolate insulin and use it to treat a disease that causes excess glucose in diabetes.
The first insulin comes from the dog
In 1921, Frederick Banting presented his idea at the University of Toronto, and after a great effort he was able to get a lab and assistant for planned research. Banting is performing with his assistant, Charles Besh, dog tests. The first insulin was obtained by binding the pancreatic needle to the dog. This operation has caused digestive enzymes to accumulate in the pancreas and destroyed a few weeks later. Only insulin-producing cells remain. The hormone injected Banting into a vein for dogs suffering from diabetes. The level of glucose in the blood did not increase after administration, which showed the effect of insulin. Dr. Frederick Banting, along with Charles Best, has discovered a cure for diabetes.
In 1923, Frederick Banting won the Nobel prize for insulin discovery because it was a breakthrough in the treatment of diabetes. He became the youngest Nobel Prize winner in the physiological and medical category of that time. The World Day of Diabetes Falls on November 14, the birthday of this Canadian physician.
