The record number of runners will compete in the only transcontinental marathon on Sunday.
The Vodafone 40th Istanbul Marathon will begin on the Asian side of Istanbul Bridge on July 15, already known as the Bosphorus Bridge.
The target line is located on the historic Sultanahmet Square on the European side of the city.
This year's theme is "Start Istanbul for a Healthy Future".
About 30,000 professional runners from more than 100 countries will take part in the marathon.
In addition, about 100,000 people are expected to drive to the 8 km (5 miles) transcontinental Istanbul Marathon Fun Run.
The event has a 42-mile marathon (26 miles) and three other races on the 15km, 10km and 8km routes. It will also include a race for participants with wheelchairs.
About 5,000 runners – more than half of the aliens – will compete in a 42-mile marathon.
The top five countries that send runners are Russia, Germany, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and France.
Fifty-five elite runners from Turkey, Kenya, Ethiopia, Azerbaijan, France, Bahrain and Morocco will participate in the marathon.
Compared to the previous years, the number of foreign runners in the marathon doubled.
The Istanbul Marathon is among the 17 marathons in Europe and 38 marathons in the world.
Vodafone is the main sponsor of the race organized by Spor Istanbul from Metropolitan Istanbul.
Last year, French runner Abraham Kiprotich won the men's category and Ken Ruth Chepngetich's women's category.
