CBD products have become increasingly popular in recent months. Both in the form of drops for oral use and as an additive, for example in bath salts. However, the legal status of the CBD is still particularly open to food.
DM has now taken this fact into account: "The legal classification of the articles has not yet been finally clarified. In coordination with the competent authorities, we have decided to withdraw CBD products indefinitely," explained DM Director Sebastian Beyer Lebensmittelzeitung.

dm pulls out CBD products – sales are currently gray
From a purely legal point of view, selling CBD products is currently a gray area. Although they are for sale, they have not yet been declared legal. The European Union put the CBD on the list of "new foods" in early January. The products on this list have yet to be tested.
Therefore, the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety also writes to the CBD: "From the point of view of BVL, an application for authorization of a medicinal product or authorization of a novel food must be submitted before the marketing of CBD-containing products. In the context of these procedures, the applicant must demonstrate product safety. "
Rossmann remains loyal to CBD products – but there is a change
However, competitor dm Rossmann could not be intimidated by the gray area. You can still find CBD products at Rossmann, such as oils or chewing gum in the range. However, according to the report hemp journal also with Rossmann change: No more oral intake indicated.
