South Korean electronics company Samsung Electronics has presented a folded screen that enables a smartphone to turn into a tablet, calling it the future of portable devices.
On Wednesday, senior vice president of San Francisco Jastin Denison discovered the folding prototype of the smartphone, pointing out that the company would be ready to launch mass production of those screens in the coming months.
Denison did not provide information as to whether the folding Samsung smartphone could reach consumers.
"This screen is the backbone of the smartphone's smartphone tomorrow, and when it's open, it's a tablet that offers a great screen experience. When closed, it's a phone that can be put in your pocket," Denison said.
Meanwhile, early this week, Californian company Royole announced it will offer the first commercially available folding smartphone in the world. SmartPhone FlexPai is available for orders with a starting price of $ 1,381 (€ 1,147).
