A well-known futurist in the world of technology, Michael Ludden, an expert in artificial intelligence, arrives in Lithuania. On November 15, Baltic Mobile Congress, a virtual and complemented reality expert at the International Mobility Conference in Vilnius, will tell you that our lives will be replaced by virtual and complemented reality. According to him, very interesting changes are expected.
Muddy Ludden, IBM Watson, Samsunga, Google, and others, says that today we meet with artificial intelligence every day, and in the next five years will cover all our areas of life.
You are co-authors of several books on transhumanism and supernatural reality. These publications will soon arrive at a bookstore. Who are you most interested in today's technological innovation?
Today, it is interesting to observe the effects of artificial intelligence on virtual and complemented reality and how it will change the world we live in, work and study. It is already a capture technology, a virtual and an augmented reality, applicable to education, sports, treatment and security. That is why it is a great pleasure to look at the unexpected areas of our lives in the coming decade so that we can accept this technology and how it will positively change our everyday life.
Artificial Intelligence has the ability to learn and improve. What, in your opinion, is the degree he has achieved at this time?
I always say there are two ways to talk and evaluate artificial intelligence. First of all, there is a narrow artificial intelligence that performs very well in certain things but can not make the decision to independently study and develop other areas. For example, scientists can learn such artificial intelligence to defeat the best Go Strategy player in the world, but this artificial intelligence will never succeed in love affairs.
What's the other way?
It is a self-developed artificial intelligence that can decide what you want to do. For example, it is good for playing chess, but he himself decides he wants to learn how to draw, and that is what he is doing well. At present, we have many examples of narrow artificial intelligence in the world, but we still have no other type. Unfortunately, we are still far from it and it is still difficult to predict when artificial intelligence will reach a higher level.
Skeptics fear that virtual reality will take their job away from people. Can this happen?
If we look at the story, we see that people are always afraid that technology will take their place and take away their job. But, on the contrary, experience shows that they help to do the job faster, easier and more efficiently. Millions of years ago, people built pyramids and stone wings, and today builders can carry large machines that make their work easier. Thanks to artificial intelligence, people will no longer have to enter data into Excel spreadsheets or make better digital work. People will not go, they will simply manage those processes.
What, in your opinion, can still be expected from artificial intelligence after 5 years?
In a five-year perspective, there will be no areas where artificial intelligence will not apply. Everything – from medicine to games, from business to marketing – will inevitably affect artificial intelligence. I do not think it will take five years, when artificial intelligence becomes a routine in our everyday life.
