There are another 1,315 cases of British and two cases of South African coronavirus in Lithuania



In the laboratory of the Santara Clinic of the University Hospital in Vilnius, 468 samples were tested, of which 387 were British varieties.

One new case of the South African strain and eight cases of the B.1.620 virus line have also been identified here.

In the reference laboratory of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, 1,047 samples were tested, of which 913 cases belonged to the British line. One new case of the South African strain and 21 new cases of the B.1.620 virus line were also identified in this laboratory.

In the laboratory of the Center for Life Sciences of the University of Vilnius, 24 samples were tested – 15 of them belong to the British line. Eight new cases of the B.1.620 virus have also been identified in this laboratory.

A total of 7016 samples have been sequenced so far, and 3534 cases of British and 14 South African virus lines have been detected in Lithuania, according to a sequencing project coordinated by the NSPL.

New strain B.1.620 to detect 61 cases, according to laboratory reports, the danger is still premature.
