Trailer Trailers in Mexico-Toluca; report at least 9 dead

After the failure of the brakes, the trailer hit cars on the Mexico-Toluca highway, near Puerta Santa Fe, which left at least 9 dead (eight men and one woman), according to Mexico's Ministry of Public Security (SSP).

The SSP has stated that there are 16 injured people already being treated in different hospitals.

Accident occurred at 14.5 km from the Mexico-Toluca highway and Prolongación Gómez Farías, Peña Blanca, in the Álvaro Obregón municipality at CDMX.

The SSP was reported to be investigated by a 41-year-old woman, "who allegedly drove a trailer from Toluca to Cuautitlan Izcalli, the state of Mexico, when he hit several damaged vehicles."

C5 reported that elements of the Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services arrived at the site to care for the injured.

At 12:20 am, the SSP reported via Twitter that traffic after a massive accident was released on the Mexico-Toluca highway: "Mexico-Toluca highway traffic was released after the accident happened tonight."
