Rabat – "What services for electronic printing in light of social changes?", was the subject of the National Press Forum in Morocco organized on Friday in Rabat, at the High Institute of Information and Communication, the Ministry of Culture and Communications.
Speaking at the opening of the forum, Mr. Laaraj noted in particular that the significant development of electronic printing in Morocco over the past six years embodies the changes that the media sector perceives as a result of technological advancement and a democratic structure that promotes freedom of thought and expression.
Mr. Laaraj also reviewed statistics on the number of reported electronic newspapers and those who were in compliance with the provisions of Act 88-13 on Press and Publication.
Mr. Aujjar, for his part, emphasized the need to seek an optimal economic model that could favor the emergence and upgrading of an electronic press that, counting on its unchallenged success in record time, raises the question of how to put this sector in service of society and democratic life.
In this regard, he said that the electronic media opened up a broad spectrum in terms of expanding digital culture and the rise of social networks; a dynamism that also made it difficult to increase the number of Internet users.
Mr. Aujjar focused on the issue of the legal framework of the press, as he distinguished him from the blog.
The Minister also pleaded for the development of strategies and practical arrangements to bring the electronic press into compliance with the ethics rules. According to him, the challenge is to implement mechanisms of self-regulation and the goals of training and continuous education.
Mr. El Khalfi for his part emphasized that investment in the Internet media is a lever for democratic progress and development.
It focused on the successful evolution of the electronic press in the Kingdom thanks to the inevitable contribution of experts.
The Forum also marked the holding of four workshops on the subject "Economic model of electronic printing". "Moroccan Electronic Press and Deontology Charter". "Production of audiovisual content in electronic press" and "Electronic Printing Company in Morocco".
