The 21-year-old student of the history of arts Sebas Groot can be named the best amateur painter in the Netherlands, according to the jury of the Project Rembrandt jury.
In this painting contest, candidates on TV competed for the title of recent weeks. Rasplet could be seen at NPO 1 on Sunday night. The winner surpassed the noses of other finalists Suzana Jovanovic (44), Rubena Lopulalana (34) and Narda Kwasta (45).
At the competition, participants with different tasks had to show what they had. For example, they had to paint portraits of Andrew van Duin and Louisa van Gaal. Participants were led by designer Jaap Godrie and artist Iris Frederix. Annechien Steenhuizen presented the Rembrandt project.
The last episode happened at the Rijksmuseum. Winner Groot can exhibit in this museum.
Pieter Roelofs, head of the Rijksmuseum for Painting and Sculpture, and artist Lita Cabell, were the jury together.
