AirAsia announced that it will suspend its daily services from Auckland on February 11, 2019.
Malaysian carrier will also consolidate capacity on the road 7 times a week to 4 times a week since January 29, 2019.
AirAsia will continue to maintain the current schedule 7 times a week on Gold Coast, Australia.
The suspension will affect hundreds of Kiwi passengers, but people who are suspended will offer you the following options:
1. Move the flight: Change to a new travel date on the same route before the suspension of the route on February 11, 2019, including the possibility of interrupted flight to allow connection with the AKL during a lower timetable without any additional costs and the availability of seat availability; OR
2. Redirect: Once you switch to alternative AirAsia X Malaysia destinations Melbourne Avalon (AVV) or Sydney (SYD), within 30 calendar days of your original travel date without any additional costs and seat availability. If the takeover is accepted, AirAsia will not provide a further flight to Auckland (AKL).
3. Credit Account: Keep your book value on the credit account associated with your BIG member account, as noted by the guest for a future trip with AirAsia. The valid BIG account for members is required for the Credit Account option and can be used within 90 calendar days from the date of issue; OR
4. Full refund: Get a full refund in an amount equal to the original reservation.
Affeceted travelers will be notified by email, SMS or outbound call based on the contact details specified in the original reservation.
For bookings made through travel agents or third parties, AirAsia suggests that you contact your travel agent immediately.
