Intel introduced Intel Neural Compute Stick 2, designed to create smarter AI algorithms and prototype computer vision at the network edge.
Intel Neural Compute Stick 2 is based on the Intel Movidius Myriad X viewing unit and supports the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit.
"The first generation Intel Neural Compute Stick has caused the entire AI developers community to act with a format factor and price that did not exist before," said Naveen Rao, Intel's corporate vice president and general manager of AI Products Group.
"It is a pleasure to see what the community is creating with a powerful enhancement to calculate the power of the new Intel Neural Compute Stick 2."
For developers who work on smart cameras, drones, industrial robots, or smart home appliances, the Intel NCS 2 offers what's needed for a faster and smarter prototype, according to Intelu.
The Intel NCS 2 is powered by a standard USB 3.0 port and does not require any additional hardware that allows users to easily modify and deploy computer-wrapped models naturally and without internet or cloud connectivity.
