The Pakistani cricket team refused a coaching exemption while in isolation at Christchurch

The Pakistani cricket team refused the exemption to leave the hotel to train in groups, while spending time in managed isolation.

Health Director General Dr. Ashley Bloomfield confirmed on Friday that she would not approve the exemption.

The 54-person Pakistani tour has had eight positive Covid-19 tests since it managed to isolate in Christchurch.

“I have considered this situation very carefully. At the moment, I still have constant concerns about the risk of cross-infection in the team, ”Bloomfield said on Friday.
