Tom Waterhouse tipped behind a big move in Goldsborough on Saturday on the Sunshine Coast.

How much impact do some tip services have on betting markets?

Goldsborough’s fluctuations on Saturday were pretty amazing.

He traded as the second favorite most of the week behind the Bleu Zebra, but a stunning turnaround after 9 a.m. Saturday morning, all the way to the jump, saw him start a $ 1.60 chance as the Bleu Zebra dropped to $ 6.50.

Tom Waterhouse has gained a significant number of followers as he switched his hand from bookmakers to ‘tip’ a few years ago, and Goldsborough was named the best for the day on Saturday morning.

While Waterhouse cannot be held solely responsible for the fall, there is no doubt that his vast followers were influenced.

He made $ 2.10 late in the morning, and then maybe others just followed the money trail.

Surely few could have predicted it would start at $ 1.60 when trading $ 3 or more in the previous 72 hours.

On the day of the Melbourne Cup the best Waterhouse was the Purple Sector, which also cut significantly against early prices, eventually starting at $ 2.20.

Furphy plate

The Purple Sector was a great pass in Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day after being sprayed by Tom Waterhouse.

We see that prominent public advisers like Melbourne’s Dean Lester have a regular market performance, especially when choosing one with larger differences.

The BetSmart service changed its model a few years ago, far from the advice for individual races, as the selections were always too short.

A few decades ago, Malcolm Johnston’s popular service also had a similar impact for a while.

He certainly created for a fascinating view … and in this case the bookmakers got a lot (see Ladbrokes report).

RISING SUN

The Sunshine Coast Tourist Club plans to expand its training base from the current 420 to as many as 550.

SCTC CEO John Miller said a number of coaches have expressed interest in on-site training.

He said the club is considering the sustainability of building stable costs versus costs and returns, with a potential building of a similar type set up on adjacent land.

The next project at the club is the upgrade of the Synthetic track and tenders are currently being reviewed for this.

QUOTE

“Great. I couldn’t ask for more. ”

– Steph Thornton is excited about the summer ahead of Gotta Kiss, who will henceforth better meet all Saturday rivals.

DISCUSSION POINT

Queensland riding ranks. Baylee Nothdurft and Ryan Maloney left a big hole with their absence on Saturday, so it’s good to hear that some reinforcements are on the way. Glen Boss will be welcome during his six weeks here, while Michael Rodd won’t take long to make concessions with confirmed news of his return.

DRIVING

Jimmy Byrne got a little more than he had hoped for as they hit the line last on the Coast. Tokoriki Lad abruptly swerved right to the line and nearly dropped the race. This picture taken by Vanessa Johnston of Trackside Photography captures the moment.

THREE BACK

Gee Tee Tee, Race 5: He almost overcame the difference in weight

Zebra blue, race 6: I’m so sorry.

Peppi La Few, Race 9: He will be more ready for it again.

RISK

Niccanova was a stronger bettor in the Mooloolaba Cup and cheated a bit, but still below his best.

INTERRUPTION

Every favorite on Ballarat. None managed to greet all 10 races in the bloody bathrooms for the players.

SHARP ARCHERS

The Swiss Ace and Mooloolaba Cup seemed to have a bit of depth with them, but the performers had none of that, highlighting Sugar Boom and Ballistic Boy and supporting them in pretty skinny steps.
