Hollywood superstar Joseph Gordon-Levitt launched a surprise visit to a cinema in Wellington and then invited locals.

The Initial and 10 things I hate about you the actor invited on Sunday morning on his Instagram Stories inviting Wellingtoners to attend a screening of David Fincher’s drama at 5 p.m. Man at the Roxy Cinema in Miramar.

Roxy’s staff opened Facebook after Gordon-Levitt’s message, announcing, “Well, it sold out quickly …”

Duty manager Liam Reid confirmed that tickets for 165 seats sold out “pretty quickly” after Gordon-Levitt’s Instagram story.

“She’s in the cinema and enjoying the film with a really entertaining audience,” Reid said.

The staff “guessed a little” about the star’s visit, but acted accordingly as usual.

“It simply came to our notice then. We had people like John Landau for Q and A when we were reviewing Titanic recently.”

Reid said the atmosphere was buzzing thanks to the presence of Gordon-Levitt, he said there was general excitement Man.

“I’m going to watch a movie with my friend I’m currently working with Man, an amazing new film made by David Fincher, ”he continued.

When he saw the announcement, Paddy Doyle of the Roxy Cinema said Gordon-Levitt’s announcement was a nice surprise.

“When I came in, it was only about 20 percent full, it’s already half full now, so I have a feeling that could be the reason.”

Caleb Turnbull, 20, missed the map but still decided to head down to see if he could take a photo with the star.

– He’s just one of the actors I grew up watching. I’m probably watching 10 things I hate about you at least once a year, it’s just your classic teen movie. ”

“I was raised in his film, not intentionally, but he was just a part of my childhood. But I also had nothing better to do on Sunday. ”

Gordon-Levitt revealed that he was working on a project in New Zealand that failed to continue in Los Angeles due to a coronavirus pandemic in an interview with Conversation at the CBS last month.

“We couldn’t find a way that would feel really safe for us, so we came here to New Zealand,” he said.

“They solved the pandemic in an amazing way and life is like normal.”
