The 911 T was abandoned for 10 years, but its good engineering allowed it to come to life
Destiny unites more than humans, unites both cars and their drivers.
At 10, a man in Britain identified by the Porsche brand as Graham, fell in love with the Porsche 911 he saw every day going to his school on Hampstead High Street in London, England.
Over the years this love became an obsession and the car was still there, almost abandoned. But it wasn't until 1997 that Graham, already an adult, decided to finally own his own 911.
Thanks to the classified newspaper, Granham was able to find a beautiful copy of the same model - or so he thought - in the Netherlands, where he was born.
The car lover made an appointment for a dark purple vehicle, I tested it and upon returning home decided to transfer £ 2,110 (more than $ 2,500) to the dealer, not knowing that the car he bought was indeed a model 1967 Porsche 911 T, a custom version of the original 911 capable of going from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 10 seconds and with 123 horsepower.
Last year, both Porsche and Graham lived new adventures and toured many cities. But fate tested his union ties and Graham had to leave 911 rescued for 10 years because of employment opportunities in the United Arab Emirates.
The car was gathering dust, his tires were blowing, and he didn't see the light of day all those years ... until Graham came back for him.
The Porsche 911 T has been restored
Graham contacted experts on those German Tower Porsche cars who were doing "miracles" to launch the abandoned vehicle.
"The key is turned, nothing. Obviously, the tires are long overdue and it looks like the battery is also ready to be sent to the waste yard. The new Michelins, a new battery and a little later, the 911 T is breathing again," explains Porsche. in a statement.
Reviving cars like this is not an easy job, but it's not impossible either.
"70% of all 911 who once left the Zuffenhausen plant still exist today. It was time for this 911 to become part of that statistic again, ”the brand adds.
Now both the Porsche 911 T and Graham relive their memories of the past as in the old days.
