MANILA – Total Philippine COVID-19 cases climbed to 504,084 on Tuesday after the Ministry of Health (DOH) reported 1,357 new infections.

The additional sum does not include data from 4 laboratories that did not submit their results on time.

At the top of the list of areas with the most new COVID-19 cases are Davao City with 130, Rizal Province with 71, Quezon City with 66, Pampanga with 54 and Benguet with 52.

The city of Davao has been repeatedly involved in leading areas with additional cases, which the DOH has previously attributed to non-compliance with health standards.

The Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), to which Benguet belongs, is also among the regions with a higher number of new cases, according to the DOH.

The department also reported 69 new COVID-related deaths, or a total of 9,978 deaths. The vast majority or 56 new deaths were reclassified and initially recorded as recoveries.

In the meantime, 324 new recovered patients were recorded, leading to a total recovery of 466,249.

The DOH said the increase in cases was mostly seen outside the Manila metro and was monitoring the jump in cases, among others in Cebu, Region II and CAR.
