In the first nine months of 2018, EDP Renováveis had a profit of 115.2 million euros, a decrease of 30% over the same period of 2017, according to information submitted to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission ( CMVM),
The company, headquartered in Madrid, which is listed on the Lisbon Stock Exchange, informs the market that its revenues amounted to EUR 1,239 million by September, which is 8% less than a year earlier. Profit before taxation, interest, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) amounted to EUR 869 million (12% less than in the same period of 2017).
The company, which had 1,364 workers since September 30, 12 percent more than a year earlier, reveals that net financial results fell to EUR 219 million, or 5 million less than last year. Total net investments in the same period amounted to EUR 1,025 million, an increase of 47% over the same period last year.
In September 2018, EDP Renováveis managed a global portfolio of 11.2 GW (gigawatts) that expanded to 11 countries, and in the previous 12 months the portfolio increased by 576 MW (mega watts), of which 303 MW in North America, 147 MW in Europe and 127 MW in Brazil.
In the first nine months of this year, EDP Renováveis produced 20.7 TWh (terawatt) of clean energy (+ 4% of the same period in 2017), avoiding 16.3 Mt (mega) of harmful gases (CO2).
EDP Renováveis had a profit of EUR 276 million at the end of 2017, an increase of 390% compared to 2016. Energias de Portugal, S.A. ("EDP"), the largest shareholder of EDP Renováveis.
