Tavira marks the Week of Sugar Disease

Between November 12 and 18, Tavira is marking a Week of Sugar Disease.

As autarchy explains in the statement, it is an initiative aimed at raising the awareness and awareness of the population about disease prevention and control and promoting healthy citizenship.

The event program includes the 12th and 15th dynamism of activities with pupils from school institutions, hip hop children, diabetes-centered people and workshops: "Family with Type 1 Diabetes", "Day for Diabetes Day" and "Learn to Eat … Better ".

It is also expected to stimulate activities with caregivers, as well as raising awareness of the "Handheld Family for Diabetes".

The "Prevent is the Best Cure for Diabetes" action will take place on March 13 and 16 at 10:00 am in the Cachopo parish and at the Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo parish council.

On the 14th day of the World Health Day, the opening ceremony will take place at 9.30am in the Auditorium Clube de Tavira in the presence of ACES Algarve III Sotavento, ARS Algarve, Tavira Town Hall, UCC Talabriga and the person responsible for the Project Community. Good to live with diabetes.

The "Diabetes and Family Dimension" Conference will take place in the same place followed by the Group of States Parties and the "Grandmothers on the move".

At 11:30, "Prevent is the Best Diabetes Drug" for an adult and an older population. The initiative integrates the projections of certified health professionals.

For Day 18, it is scheduled at 10:00, starting from Praça da República, a walk through diabetes, which will precede the creation of the human circuit.

In the area, between 09h00 and 11h30, will be the team from U.C.C. Talabriga for evaluation of TA and capillary glycemia.

Significantly increasing the prevalence of diabetes is worrying in Portugal and in the world, so it is important to join efforts to combat its expansion and reduce the moral, physical and economic damage associated with this pathology.

This initiative is organized by the Talabriga Community Care Unit, the Community of Diabetes Community, Health Care Project, Health Team School, ARS Algarve, ACEs Algarve III Sotavento and City Hall of Tavire.
