AUR Co-President George Simion announced on December 22 that he would inform the Constitutional Court of the manner in which the leadership of the House of Representatives was elected. “We are protesting against the way the leadership of the Chamber was appointed, at 2:00 am, for serious abuses, usurpation of some official qualities. We had the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the old dean who declared the meeting closed. A new parliamentary group had not been convened before.
The head of the PNL deputy, Gabriel Andronache, requested an extension of the plenary session, after the deputies were sworn in, to elect the president of the Chamber. After several contradictory discussions, AUR representatives left the room.
After that, the plenary session of the House of Representatives resumed, on the night of December 21-22, and was chaired by another senior dean – Iusein Ibram from a group of national minorities – and the President of the Chamber and other members of the Permanent Bureau were elected. .
Ludović Orban, the leader of the Liberals, was elected Speaker of the House of Representatives.
