HOW DO YOU HAVE A SPEAKER? World scientists have given a shocking answer to this question

Flu virus has taken the first lives of this winter in Serbia, so this week, two people from Belgrade and New York died of complications caused by the virus. How can someone die of flu? Scientists have recently responded to this question, and this fact is quite shocking.

Although domestic specialists only take flu as a cause of death, they tend to formulate it as "death caused by complications of influenza viruses," a young American case is proof that even healthy people may die from it.

Regarding the domestic case, Assistant Director of the Batut Institute Darija Kišić Tepavčević says it is difficult to ascertain whether the virus is just the cause of death because these people were chronic patients and are therefore at an increased risk of complications.

– In chronic patients, the influenza virus can complicate the underlying disease, and on the other hand we know that these people are at increased risk of developing various complications. That is why we say that this virus can be associated with death, but that does not have to be the case, "explained Kishic Tepavcevic.

However, an American scholarly journal, seeking answers – How to kill a hand, writes about a girl's case:

Alani Murieta from Phoenix (Arizona) came out early on Sunday, November 20th, because she was not well. Although he did not suffer from other illnesses, his condition became worse. The next day he arrived at the Emergency Center where they diagnosed her flu and prescribed antiviral medication.

On Tuesday morning, there was a problem with breathing and began to return the blood. Parents were taken to the hospital, and the X-ray showed lung infection, which could be due to bacterial or viral infections.

Her antibiotics were injected into the vein, but her heart was disturbed while transporting her to the intensive care unit. They reacted, but the heart stopped working again. On the same day at 15.25, just one day after the flu was discovered, doctors found death.

How is that? The thrust kills him

An interesting explanation of what is happening in the body when the virus virus penetrates it has recently been provided by US physicians in the scientific journal Scientific American.

In the shortest time, the answer is that the body in most cases kills while trying to cure it!

"Flu death is not like bullet death or black widow bites," says Adams Adhesia, an infectious disease specialist at the Jones Hopkins University Health Safety Center.

– Only the presence of the virus is not enough to kill you. Infectious disease is always in complex interaction with the host – says this contagious disease.

When the virus takes control

When a flu virus enters the body, according to the same information, and usually through the eyes, through the nose or mouth, then it is necessary to control human nose and throat cells to produce their own copies.

As reported, massive mass of cells causes a strong response to the immune system, which sends battalions of white blood cells, antibodies, and inflammatory molecules to eliminate the threat.

The so-called T cells or cells of the killer of our immune system attack and destroy the tissue affected by the virus, especially the respiratory organs, where the virus usually retains.

For most healthy people, this process is effective, so they are recovering for several days or weeks, according to the American Journal.

Sometimes, however, the reaction of the immune system is too strong and destroys so much tissue in the lungs that more oxygen does not reach the blood, which leads to death.

As the doctors have pointed out, and, as is generally well known, sometimes potent and potentially lethal immune response is not caused by a flu virus, but other or secondary infections that change during the flu.

"Secondary Infections"

According to the same information, there is usually a bacterial infection of the lungs, often with streptococci or staphylococci. Bacterial infection in the respiratory tract can be extended to other parts of the body and to the blood and even cause death and dying.

Kathleen Sullivan, head of the Department of Allergy and Immunology at the Philadelphia Children's Hospital, estimates that one-third of patients dying of flu-like diseases lose their lives because the virus is overwhelmed by the umbrella; the third is dying of immune response to secondary bacterial infections, usually lungs. and third because of the cancellation of one or more organs.

Each year, the collision kills children up to 5 years years and older than 65 years

During the typical flu season, according to the American Journal, most lethal flu cases occur among children and the elderly.

The child's system has not yet learned how to fight the dangers, and the elderly are weakened by age and other illnesses.

Both other age groups can hardly recover from the attack of the immune system on themselves. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), among children 6 months to 5 years and older than 65 years, the greatest risk of developing complications with potential deaths are exposed to pregnant women, healthcare workers and people suffering from certain chronic diseases such as AIDS, asthma, heart and lung disease.

Dr Radovanovic: Deaths in the flu season are inevitable

Although so called. The intensity of virus in Serbia, according to Batut, is low, which means that since 31.12. from 6.1.2019. 3,427 cases of flu-like illnesses were reported.

Prof. Dr. Zoran Radovanovic, an epidemiologist, says this season does not expect any surprises when the flu is in question.

– The top of the disease case can be expected in the second half of January, at the end of the month, and pressure on health care will be weakened in the second half of February. The so-called "epidemic" swine flu is expected in March, ie when flu-like illness is expected – explains Dr Radovanovic.

According to him, the complications and severity of the clinical picture do not only depend on the type and the flu subtypes of AH1N1 or AH3N2, but also on many variants of viruses that are constantly changing.

"However, there is no increase in variation compared to the variants contained in the vaccine," he said.

How prof. Dr. Radovanovic says deaths in the flu season are inevitable, but their exact numbers are difficult to determine because they often die from complications.

– Usually from lung inflammation that may occur with a certain delay, so flu is not the primary cause of death. Generally, flu prevention should follow commonly known measures. So avoiding gatherings, or places where a lot of people are tight in a small space, follow their hands, not sick for work … – says this expert.

Every year a flu takes place 30 lives in Serbia

Every year, a flu virus causes between three and five million cases of severe illness and between 291,000 and 646,000 deaths, according to the WHO and the American Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

In Serbia, according to published data, this is until the 30th century.

Last year, Grip suffered 15 lives in Serbia, and in 2017, 27 people died of complications caused by the influenza virus.
