Seoul – South Korean actress Jeon Mi-seon, who starred in drama plays, including the Moon in the Sun's Embrace, was found dead in the hotel room on Saturday (June 29th).
A 48-year-old actress should stay at a hotel in Jeonju, North Jeolla, about 240km away from Seoul, for two business days, Yonhap news agency reported.
Her body was found after her manager called on the police to say the actress disappeared. It is believed to have committed suicide, officials said.
A detailed investigation of her death is in progress.
Jeon was supposed to perform at a theater show in the cultural center of Samsung Chonbuk National University in Jeonju. The show was canceled on Saturday after the news of her death, the Hellokpop entertainment news site reported.
The actress was cast into a series of wildly popular television drama series that won legions of faithful viewers across Asia. Her works include Love in the moonlight (2016), Reply 1988 (2015) and Moon Embrace of the Sun (2012).
Her latest King's film will be premiered in July.
