Kiska compares the Marrakech Conference at the EU summit: We need to have that representative, he says

The president is also concerned about the government's crisis related to the resignation of Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak (candidate Smeru-SD) for Slovakia's foreign policy.

Lajčák decided to step down from the post of chief of Slovak diplomacy after the adoption of the parliamentary resolution on the UN Global Migration Pact. The Government of the SR, according to him, must adopt disagreement with the pact. It must also take appropriate measures to withdraw the SR from the process of receiving the document at a government and high level meeting to be held in Morocco on 10 and 11 December. SNS and MEP Smeru-SD endorsed 90 votes on Thursday (29 November).

The resolution does not say that a Slovak representative should attend a conference in Marrakech. However, President Andrej Danko (SNS), in his words, relies on the fact that Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) will keep the word and no one will go to Slovakia for Marrakech. The fact that the Slovak delegate did not attend the conference, Pellegrini also confirmed at a press conference on Friday.
