London. The Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), the UK's largest car maker, will announce plans for the production of electric cars next week at its Castle Bromwich factory.
The Sunday Times Times said.
The electric sedan XJ luxury will be the first of three new vehicles to have a "common frame". The second model will be a sports-communal vehicle, the newspaper said.
So far no agency response has been received on the Sunday Times.
This move will be a rare "light spot" for the British automotive industry, which loses jobs after announcing foreign manufacturers over the past months to close their UK manufacturing plants.
This is due to the fall in demand for diesel vehicles and the uncertainty surrounding Brexit.
