The Ljubljana police officers dealt with a case of deception in which the citizen was deceived and consequently lent money to the fraudsters, confident of helping someone in need. The injured party surrenders to foreigners 4200 euros after they have spoken. The money was needed to pay for the work of a family member.
Last week the police investigated a new case of fraud in Ljubljana. According to the information gathered so far, the 85-year-old victim in Njegoseva Street talked to two foreigners and asked for money for the paid-up operation of the family member. Together with them he went to the bank, collected 4200 euros and then handed them money. In return, they gave him a "more valuable" item (two hours) and promised him to return, but of course they did not.
The police now look for two unknown men and seek help in facilitating the identification of the deceased. The first is about 170 centimeters in height, between 60 and 70 years, gray hair, stronger posture and round face. He wore a black jersey around his neck, dressed in a jacket, speaking in one of the languages of the former Yugoslavia.
The other suspect is about 165 centimeters tall, about 60 years old, elongated, chestnut and middle-aged. He was dressed in a black jacket but spoke in one of the languages of the former Yugoslavia.
It advises the police not to incline in such requests and not to give money to foreigners in exchange for the items offered as a guarantee for repayment. Usually it turns out that the objects are worthless, they point out in the police.
