Infrastructure Minister Alenka Bratušek, European Commissioner Violeta Bulc and Managing Director Darse Tomaž Vidić today officially handed over the last six km long section of the Podravska highway between Podlehnika and the border crossing Gruškovje. Sarajevo Euroasfalt ended the month before the deadline and for less money than it was estimated.
Bratuskova said she was proud because the project was over in her time, but she thanked everyone who has already helped her solve one of the main traffic problems in Slovenia.
According to her, it does not mean that the state infrastructure will be in the country we want, so that Slovenia builds the third development axis, the second tunnel in the Karavanke, and in the next few years it is waiting for them mostly on state roads, to make them safer even under normal conditions .
Cerar laid the foundation stone on the Draženci-Gruškov highway section
For a road of 110 million euros
Given the fact that the whole section of the freeway between Dražen and Gruškov, built in two phases of three years, costs about 110m euros, which is significantly less than the estimated value of the investment, he said that in the future he would want to be as accurate as possible investment estimates but also building cheaper, faster and more efficient.
The first man Dars Tomaž Vidić explained the lower project price compared to the estimated value of the investment with the fact that three years ago there was a great deal of interest among service providers because before that period construction and the financial crisis were quite difficult.

Bulcheva also attended the opening ceremony
Slovenia has received more than EUR 66 million in Cohesion Funds for project preparation and section building, and European Bulletin Bureau for Transport also attended today's opening. As he pointed out, the final opening of this section is an important event for the whole EU.
"Europe is very clear in its transport strategy. Corridors connect European countries, and this part was the last missing link in an important corridor that connects Slovenia with Croatia and Austria and other parts of the European Union in an efficient and direct way," Bulceev said. adding that the European Union has set itself 220 billion euros in the last three and a half years for transport infrastructure.
The revision request was rejected, the construction of the Draženc-Gruškov section could be resumed
Opening is important for the local population
Especially for the local population on the state road between Ptuja and Gruškova, opening is very important because the traffic conditions for them for many years are unbearable. On the highway you also get a new parallel state road which, according to the outgoing mayor Podlehnik, Marko Maučič, is a great relief for them.
Why has not yet the construction of the Draženci – Gruškovje motorway started?
