What the taxpayer discovered at the new owner of the Krvavec ski resort



Former tax inspections have finally been confirmed by doubts that Janez Jansa is not financially capable of buying RTC Krvavec. Is it a threat to financial skiing on a popular ski resort?

When RTC Krvavec went to the hands of entrepreneurs from the branch of Zreče Unior last spring Janez Janša, many wondered if this was a really good buyer:

  • Two days after the end of the job, Jansa's entrepreneur announced to the public that Krvavac really had no investment money. He emphasized that state aid was needed to renovate old lifts and towers;
  • he had problems with collecting money to buy a ski resort. When expiry terms expired for EUR 1.7 million from the redemption price, he drove 310,000 euros in the gray market at the interest rate that he had withheld.

Sums and doubts have now been finally confirmed by the Financial Administration (FURS).

In the fiscal inspection of Jansa's company, Infohip noticed irregularities in the calculation of value added tax, concealed withdrawal of money from the company through lending to family members and raising large amounts of cash through which the entrepreneur paid for private consumption.

Infohip is the latest article in the chain of companies through which Jansa is owned by RTC Krvavec. According to the most recent data, they intend to pay a fine of over € 334,000 in additional taxes.

"The subject tax treatment is more than a year and a half, and at all times it proves that the debt does not exist and that is why the inspectors' erroneous position." The record, which after all these years was the first Furs document, will naturally comment, Jansa pointed out for Siol.net.

What did tax inspectors find?

Even one year before the Bloody Blood Shop, it seemed that entrepreneur Jansa should not have any problems with the money. At that time, the state charged 3.5 million euros in damages. He received him because of an unreasonably long trial in the dispute with the inhabitants of the unique home of Tekstilindus in Kranju, who bought it in 1995, and he could not move out there.

From the documents we received on Siol.net it is apparent that around one-third of the total damage, or about 1.1 million euros, had to be paid to the Ljubljana attorney. Mihi Šipcu, who have been in litigation with the state for many years. Whether it's a reward, it's not known.

According to our data, Fursa's interest prompted the high costs of attorneys at Infohip. The inspectors suspected that they were allegedly unjustifiably avoiding VAT payments in the total amount of about 250 thousand euros.

Three more suspicions of the violation of the tax law have been identified:

– Jansa's entrepreneur in 2016 and 2017, when he has already received compensation, has approved two members of his immediate family, approved more than 230,000 euros in loans. In Furs, they are convinced that this is a payout for which 25% of income tax is charged, which would amount to 57,700 euros;

– In 2017, he collected money and paid various services for his private purposes from the company's account. There were a total of 82 thousand euros. According to Furs, this was a covert profit disbursement that would result in the payment of over € 20,000 in income tax;

– Jansa also took advantage of the VAT deduction on financial and business consultations worth € 26,000 to buy RTC Krvavec. This should not be done because it was not the business of Infohip.

Is Krvavec financially exhausted with tax debt?

Jansa emphasized that he did not expect tax obligations. "If they show, Infond will take them out of their own resources," he explained. Last year he claimed that it was "a misunderstanding with the fur" and that he would not have to pay the euro either. His predictions have not yet come true.

Where will this money find this time, is not clear. For many months, InfoBank has blocked all bank accounts. According to publicly available data, other Jansa companies do not have enough money to settle these tax liabilities.

If Jansa fails to reject Furs' decision, he will not have the money to pay his tax debt, as he could even endanger the loss of the Krvavac ski resort. In fact, Furs managed to record a prohibition on disposing of Infohip assets, indirectly on the ownership of RTC Krvavec.

"Infohip has enough money, and tax treatment will in no way affect Krka Krvavec," says Jansa. It is not yet clear whether he, as owner of RTC Krvavec, owes the accumulated profits of RTC Krvavec for tax debt, which by the end of 2017 amounted to just over 600 thousand euros and is intended for investments.

In 2017 RTC Krvavec achieved record EUR 4.8 million in revenue and nearly EUR half million in net profit. In addition, EUR 1.6 million of cash flow from operations (EBITDA) was realized.

The best skiing ground in the country with great plans

Krvavec is considered one of the best organized and visited ski resorts in Slovenia. In the third year in a row, just prior to the start of the ski season, he received the world ski awards for the best ski resort in Slovenia.

Still, the view of the full-blooded slopes reflects the old lifts that will need renovation sooner or later. There is not enough accommodation. Great investments are also needed to finally revive the summer season.

They plan to spread ski slopes, invest in additional sledding equipment, extend accommodation and catering facilities, bicycle and hiking trails, organize entertaining and cultural events, and the like. "For some of the investments we have already been funded, but there is a lot of intensive talks at all levels," Jansa said.

"RTC Krvavec works very well, we see increased number of visitors and increase revenue, so we are satisfied with last year's profit. We will not fall asleep," he added.

And before this year's ski season started well, he joined the dispute with the long-time mayor of Cerklje France Cebul, From the municipality he had previously defeated in the Bloody Fight, he asked to secure the parking lot below the lower lifts station but was not successful.

"I inform the guests that Krvavec has got an owner who wants to mess with each other. To follow him, the municipality should solve every parking problem for every individual, which is, of course, absurd," said Mayor Cerklje.
