(sda) "42 countries will dare dream to Tel Aviv at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019," the European Union for Broadcasting as an organizer on Wednesday posted on Twitter. It is only one participant less than at the last competition in May in Portugal.
"Dare to Dream" is the motto of the event. Israeli singer Netta won ESC in May with the song "Toy". So, the competition will be held regularly in May 2019 in the country.
In September dozens of cultural activists opposed the orientation of the ESC in Israel. The reason for this was the violation of the human rights of the Palestinian state.
Boycott calls to Israel are frequent. They are controversial because critics see this as a limit to anti-Semitism.
