Zurich – According to the Michael Page Job index, the number of vacancies in Switzerland grew by 3.7 percent from October to November. It is the highest growth in advertised jobs in that period since the start of the index, the employment agency said on Wednesday.
The demand for experts is now so high that top-ranked candidates with the most sought after skills get several bids, Michael Page writes. This applies especially to candidates who have specialist knowledge in the field of pharmaceutical and specialty chemicals, transportation, logistics, IT assets management and sales.
High growth rates in the regions of Eastern Switzerland, Central Plateau and Central Switzerland
In the German speaking area, Swiss growth was the strongest at 3.9 percent, while in Romagna it was slightly weaker at 2.2 percent. Employment growth was particularly strong in Eastern Switzerland (+ 9.3 percent), Central Plateau (+6.0 percent) and Central Switzerland (+4.6 percent). These regions will strongly focus on health and life sciences, production, aviation, defense and logistics.
