Increases the risk of death from Covid-19 by 9 times



Although the number of new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) in the world is approaching 150 million, a new study by Canadian scientists has shown that gingivitis has increased the risk of death from Covid-19 by 8.8 times. It is also stated that people suffering from gingivitis are 3.5 times more likely to be hospitalized for Covid-19, and 4.5 times more likely to need a ventilator.

As part of the study, the researchers used data from Hamad Medical Corporation, which includes nine hospitals in Qatar. In this context, the medical records of 568 patients were examined.
